A psychoanalyst discusses a new phenomenon in urban America: women driven mad by loneliness. He gives us four case studies, women he has treated. Elaine, 24, a secretary, and Janis, 24, a teacher, separately find a brochure about vacations in Miami Beach. What looks like a wild time of partying and dissolution becomes even more bizarre. Ann seems well-adjusted but complains of nonexistent rashes that lead to her showing lots of skin to strangers. The doctor fears for her arrest, so he comes up with an ingenious solution. Sally is his strangest patient: she wants such perfection in a man that she ends up with a Fiberglas mannequin. She requires the doctor's most personal cure.

And how!
STRANGE RAMPAGE exists for one reason only: to preserve in feature film form the legendary figure of stripper Ann Howe. Other considerations, like making an adequately interesting movie, do not apply here.
Howe is also featured, in color yet with a hint of bush showing, in the nudie LULLABY OF BARELAND, but it is RAMPAGE that does her justice.
Creaky format is that of a case history movie, with Brad Grinter made up to look like Vincent Price as the shrink (or "sex doctor" as he puts it) treating us to three real life stories -hardly.
The action is MOS, with Grinter providing voice-over narration. Tale No. 1 concerns two mousy women, secretary Elaine (Linda Miller) and schoolteacher Janis (Sheri Sims), who read Miami travel magazines and dream of adventure. Stupid premise is that they read the same lurid story titled "Strange Bedroom Rampage" (which gives rise to this film's intentionally misleading title) and mystically share the same sex dream.
With horrible continuity, their nonsensical adventure consists of being picked up in a bar where a girl is go-go dancing to a "Hand Jive" beat, and taken to a party where a portly guy has sex with them. Back to reality it turns out the creep is Elaine's boss. The pantomime acting and dubbed-over heavy breathing are a drag here. The big thrill circa 1967 is the visibility of bush beneath transparent panties.
Episode 2 is the piece de resistance, Ann Howe cast as Ann Rowe (!?), who visits the shrink with a psychosomatic skin condition. Her actual affliction is one prevalent only among porn movie heroines -she has the need to expose herself to any and all workmen who visit her home. After she exposes herself to doc Grinter, we see tantalizing flashbacks of her in action at home.
The doc wisely concludes Ann is an exhibitionist and gets her a job stripping at a local Miami nightclub. Cure is perfect, and we get to see her amazing 48s in action, in a well-designed and arousing filming of her act, preserved for posterity.
SPOILERS AHEAD:
Final episode is ludicrous, mere filler. Sally, first seen as voyeur watching a couple make out on the beach, supposedly suffers from having too high standards, so she can't find a man up to her level, yet is horny as hell. She has a department store male mannikin at home to strip for and apparently fantasy-service her, but clearly this is not healthy. Film's absurd "trick ending" has the shrink announcing he's cured her too by finding her the perfect man, and we see him going home to his wife, who turns out to be... you guessed it!
Howe's knockers make this trash all worthwhile, and I'm glad she got a shot at a feature film, as I like her more than her more famous, and oft-filmed, contemporaries Virginia Bell and Blaze Starr.
All the classic pin-ups of yore deserved "one for the ages", and it is a shame so many have been overlooked. Case in point is the inimitably well-built Lee Germain, in many loops, but only one film THE DAISY CHAIN, which is currently lost.
